Ghanaian midfielder Baba Iddrissu is elated after earning a place in the Black Stars team for the doubleheader against Mali and Qatar in Turkey.
The Real Mallorca enforcer was first called to the Black Stars for an AFCON qualifier against South Africa in Cape Coast last November and has now made a return to the team.
Iddrisu stressed that the bond at national team level is so great and they will all continue to fight for the nation.
“It’s such a great feeling because outside, though we have friends and colleagues at the club side. But when we come to the national team, usually is different, because the tradition here, everything is almost the same. Unlike the European type, it’s amazing being together with the guys in the national team.” He told the GFA website
“We still have the confidence, personally, I am ready to learn, pick new challenges and opportunities. I am just here to enjoy myself, learn as much as possible and help the team. And I think collectively all the guys are having the same thought as I have.” He added.
Despite Real Mallorca’s relegation from the Spanish La Liga last season, Iddrissu was one of their key players and has been linked to a host of clubs including Atletico Madrid, Valencia and Getafe.
