The Black Stars of Ghana were supposed to travel on thursday to Oyem for their quarter-final match against Dr Congo but the trip had to be cancelled due to a power cut at the Oyem Airport, authorities say.
Ghana Football Association Communications director Ibrahim Sannie has said their arrival at Oyem will have been on thursday night but the authorities of the airport communicated to them the challenge of the lighting system on the run away of the airport.
According to Sannie their flight is now rescheduled on friday morning where the team is expected to land at Oyem ahead of their preparation towards the all important fixture.
Saani added the Confederation of African Football CAF has apologized to the Ghana team for any inconvenience the delay might have caused.
