Paintsil, 22, was not captured in the immediate plans of manager Hannes Wolf and has since been loaned to the Turkish club to aid his development and also enjoy more playing time.
Paintsil joined Genk from Ferencvaros on 4-year-deal for two million euros ahead of the 2019/20 season.
He was a member of the Ghana team that failed to qualify to Tokyo 2020.
