Ghanaian Ebenezer Ackon has been selected by Chicago Fire in the MLS SuperDraft.
The budding defender joins the MLS side after emerging as the fifth pick for the Club and 53rd pick overall in this year’s SuperDraft.
Ackon becomes the third Ghanaian to be selected in the MLS SuperDraft after Roy Boateng and Anderson Asiedu joined New York Red Bulls and Atlanta United respectively.
The former Ebusua Dwarfs ace moved to the State to further his education with Browling Green University having initially earned admission into the University of Cape Coast.
He now gets the opportunity to sign his first professional contract with Chicago Fire and becomes the only second Ghanaian to join the Club after David Accam who moved to fellow MLS side Philadelphia Union.
