The Egyptian Football Association confirmed on Thursday that Egypt’s next coach in case of Hector Cuper’s departure will be foreign.
There have been speculations about the Argentinian manager amid Egypt’s early exit from the World Cup after losing to Uruguay and Russia in the group stages.
The EFA’s official spokesperson Sherif Ismail denied any talks about Cuper’s departure and confirmed that in case that happens his successor will be a foreign manager
“Cuper’s contract ends after Egypt finish their World Cup campaign by four days,” Ismail said. “No one knows what will happen in the Saudi Arabia match, the EFA will have a meeting after returning from Russia to decide everything.”
Ismail also denied any presence of conflict in the Egypt camp amid rumors about Essam El Hadary and Mohamed Salah’s anger which he denied in a tweet and statement to the EFA’s official website.
”Whoever talked about El Hadary’s anger didn’t notice that he participated in the warmup and being a leader he was the first to support Mohamed El-Shennawy,”
”In an interview with FIFA, Hadary supported and praised his teammates. He may be angry for not participating but nothing out of line happened.”
