Former Asante Kotoko midfielder Kwabena Dodzi has made a startling revelation of how he smoked weed before every game he played during his time in the Ghana Premier League.
The former BA United star speaking in an interview with Kumasi-based Ashh FM, spoke about his battle with anxiety and how he self-medicated with marijuana.
He further mentioned that he smoked weed before every game to calm his nerves and be aggressive in his tackles.
“It’s true I always smoked weed (blunt) before I go into a game because it makes me become aggressive in tackles,” Dodzi said.
Kwabena Dodzi, popularly known as “Kwabena Basabasa” started his professional football with B/A United before moving to Great Olympics in 2001. The journey continued when he signed Kotoko in 2005.
Dodzi after his Kotoko spell went back to B/A United and qualified them to the premier league after 10 years in relegation before making another switch to Wa All-Stars, now Legon Cities.
