There have been recent reports connecting James Kwesi Appiah, a former coach of the Black Stars, to the open coaching position at Asante Kotoko, generating much interest and speculation in the football community.
Despite his prior involvement with the national team as a player and coach, Appiah denied having been approached or contacted about the job.
“No. Nobody has approached or contacted me for the job,” he said in an interview with Ghanasportspage.com
Asante Kotoko recently dismissed coach Seydou Zerbo after losing to Medeama SC and appointed Abdul Gazale as the interim coach.
In their most recent game, Kotoko tied 1-1 with Legon Cities at El Wak Stadium and are scheduled to play Real Tamale United at Aliu Mahama Stadium on Sunday.
