French Ligue 1 side Olympique Lyon, have intensified their negotiations to sign Ghanaian defender Nicholas Opoku after an impressive loan spell at Amiens this Summer.
Opoku, 23, joined the league 1 side on-loan from Serie A side Udinese in the middle of this season and was one of the outstanding defenders in the league.
The former Berekum Chelsea centre-back’s impressive display at Amiens, have caught the attention of Lyon’s scout and technical handlers and want to sign him from parent club Udinese Calcio.
Though Amiens has the first option to buy Opoku, the former club African ace SPORTSworldGhana.com, understand wants a move to a ‘big’ club Lyon after opting to stay in France.
Meanwhile, Rennes are also reported to have expressed interest in the services of Opoku after failing to reach agreement with Real Valladolid for his country Mohammed Salisu.
