The Ghana baseball Under 12 team on Tuesday began their participation in the Smart Kids tournament hosted by Ivory Coast on a good start with 16 runs to 1 against Burkina Faso.

Ghana is one of four countries participating in this year’s competition with the remaining side being Europe’s France.

Baseball is growing steadily in the country with the interest increasing marginally by the day and the team’s participation at the outgoing tourney can only add some gold dust on the success story of the sport.

The tournament which seeks to promote baseball in the sub region is yearly competition.

President of Ghana Baseball and Soft ball association, Albert K. Frimpong after the game said, ” We are happy with the team’s performance and outcome of the first game. We hope they build on the momentum and grab more wins as we aim for the ultimate.”

Ghana’s next game is against host Ivory Coast
