Ghanaian duo David Boateng and Malachi Boateng starred for Crystal Palace U23s in their 1-0 away win against Burnley on Monday afternoon.
Brandon Pierrick scored the only goal in the game for Palace as they recorded their first victory as a Premier League 2 side over 10-man Burnley team.
The Ghanaian duo impressed greatly and lasted the entire duration of the game.
Alfie Matthews almost opened the scoring for Palace on four minutes but the forward’s driving run into the penalty box failed to enter the net.
Burnley’s first attempt came after 13 minutes into the game but Lewis Richardson’s header was well saved by Goalkeeper Ollie Webber.
Shaun Derry’s side had a numerical shortage after 20 minutes when Mace Goodridge was shown a red card.
Despite the loss of the midfielder, the Clarets remained compact and managed to get in at half-time with the game still goalless.
Brandon Pierrick made his side’s numerical advantage count in the 55th minute, finding the back of the net for the first time this campaign to snatch all three points for the visitors.
The victory over the Clarets means Palace leapfrog them to 10th, whilst Burnley fall to 12th.
