Club Brugge booked qualification to the last eight with a 3-5 penalty shootouts win over Gent after a pulsating 3-3 draw of regulation time.
The Ghanaian international struck in the 45+2 and 70 minutes to give his side a 3-3 stalemate but suffered a 3-5 defeat during the penalty shootout to end their campaign in the competition.
Paintsil who is currently on the radar of English Premier League side Aston Villa has now scored five goals in twelve outings for Genk this season.
