Ghanaian international winger, Gilbert Koomson sustained in injury on Sunday in the Norway Eliteserien against Valerenga FC.
The 26-year-old lasted 33 minutes on the field before his injury and was replaced by Erlend Hustad at the time his team were trailing by 4-1.
Five Vålerenga goals before 35 minutes had been played ensured a big loss for the Reds whose early fine form continues to dwindle in the league.
Henrik Bjørdal gave Vålerenga the lead after only four minutes, then Petter Strand equalized after eight minutes of action for SK Brann.
Vidar Örn Kjartansson then scored after 14, 16 and 23 minutes to put the game beyond the visitors under 30 minutes.
The 5-1 scoreline was completed with Osame Sahraoui after his 34th minutes strike to hand Valerenga a comprehensive victory over Brann.
No goals were scored after the break.
The next match is on Sunday 20 September at 18.00. Then league leader Bodø / Glimt comes to the Stadium to face a dejected Brann side.
Koomson is expected to be out of action for at least two to four weeks after picking up injury on Sunday.
The Ghana International has scored eight goals in 17 games and remains his club’s top scorer despite a six games goal drought.
