Highly-rated youngster, Brendan Sarpong-Wiredu was handed minutes during Colchester United’s pre-season friendly against English Premier League giants, Tottenham Hotspur.
The 21-year-old played 82 minutes for his side as they were thumped by the North London club in a friendly on Wednesday at the Colchester Community Stadium.
The versatile midfielder looked impressive in a middle battle involving Harry Winks, Oliver Skipp and Dele Alli despite being on the losing end of the game.
The Ghanaian posted on his Twitter platform to express his delight after the game .

Sarpong-Wiredu played 20 games for Colchester during the 2020/21 League Two as they finished 20th on the league log and will once again be key to their season when the new campaign begins on August 7.
