Highly -rated Ghanaian forward Joel Fameyeh shares his disappointment after suffering relegation from the Russian Premier League on Wednesday.
The Ghana International expressed his displeasure after his side suffered a 4-1 defeat at champions Zenit St. Petersburg which confirmed that the Blue and Whites would be playing in the second tier in the 2020/21 season.
” It is very disappointing to be going down to the lower tier after putting in hard throughout the season” he told SPORTSworldGhana.com.
According to the Black Meteors attacker, the coronavirus pandemic which halted football activities is a cause of his team’s downfall.
“We were doing very well in the league before the Covid-19 break and things didn’t go our way after the long break which has contributed to us being relegated”, he added.
FC Orenburg has suffered six defeats in seven games in the Russian Premier League since football returned in June and has managed to pick up just a point in a possible 21.
Fameyeh, 23, has seven goals in 24 games for Orenburg after joining from Belarus side Dynamo Brest.
