Ghanaian leader, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has rewarded the playing body and the technical team of the national U-20 team $10,000 each after AFCON triumph in Mauritania.
The president of the West African giants invited the 2021 CAF U-20 Championship winners to the Jubilee House on Tuesday, March 9 following their success in the just-ended tournament.
Ghana defeated the Young of Uganda on the 6th of March to lift their fourth trophy in the CAF U-20 tournaments to go level with Egypt and three behind Nigeria who have won the covetous trophy seven times.
After meeting with the players, Akufo-Addo has pledged to give both the players and the technical team a sum of $330,000.00 to be shared which would see every member pocket $10,000 each.
Ghana, on its way to win the tournament, defeated teams like Cameroon, Tanzanian, Gambia and in the final beat Uganda 2-0 with both goals being scored by 2000 CAF Champions League winners, Accra Hearts of Oak striker Daniel Afriyie Barnieh.
After the tournament, two players namely Ibrahim Danlad and Issahaku Abdul Fatawu were named in the best eleven of the tournament after winning the Golden Gloves and Balls respectively.
