Asante Kotoko coach Maxwell Konadu admits Liberty Professionals played ‘much better’ to earn a point in match day seven fixture of the Ghana premier league on Sunday.
The Porcupine Warriors failed to win at home after their famous away win against rival Hearts of Oak last Sunday as they were held to a 1-1 draw by the Dansoman-based club.
The Scientific Soccer lads struck first through Tamimu Muntari before striker William Opoku Mensah restored parity for Kotoko six minutes to stoppage time, registering his first goal of the season.
The result puts the reds on fifth with 13 points after match day seven.
Speaking at a post match press conference, Konadu mentioned his team did what they could to get all three maximum points but unfortunately failed to achieve that.
He however, assured fans of the club that his side will work harder to ensure they get positive results against WAFA.
“We are not happy we lost points at home. We came in stronger at second half we just couldn’t take the three points. Our aim was to win the match to get the maximum three points to boost our standing on the table.
“It was a difficult match, Liberty came and played very well. Generally I must say it was a good match and I think, in my opinion Liberty played much better. We will work hard again to make sure that we bounce back.”
