Liberty Professionals recorded their first win of the season over Accra Great Olympics on Sunday afternoon thanks to a brace from forward Simon Appiah Asamoah.
The Scientific Soccer lads returned to the Dansoman Park for Match-day Five after suffering a 1-0 away defeat at Berekum Chelsea last weekend to dispatch Great Olympics who were unbeaten before the match on Sunday.
Head coach David Ocloo kept faith in Simon Appiah – who had drawn blank this season – in his starting formation and the man in jersey in number 14 did not disappoint this time thanks to a goal in each half of the game.
There were draws against Bechem United, Elmina Sharks and Eleven Wonders before Sunday victory over regional rivals Olympics.
Liberty thus move to 4th on the league standings on six points after five games.
