Midfielder Umar Bashiru was adjudged Man of the Match in Karela United’s 2-2 away draw against Ashantigold in matchday one of the Ghana Premier League at the Accra Sports Stadium.
The former WAFA and Asante Kotoko midfielder was in his quality best and controlled the midfielder with some great passes and ball distribution.
The Miners who have made a couple of experienced signings with the likes of former Dreams FC skipper Abdul Bashiru joining them got begun piling pressure on their opponents in the early minutes with David Abagna, and Appiah Macarthy in the thick of affairs.

Against the run of play, Diawisie Taylor shot Karela United FC ahead in the fifth minute with a sweet finish before Appiah Macarthy restored parity with a fabulous freekick before veteran Hans Kwoffie made it 2-1 for Ashgold on the stroke of half time.
Midfielder Samuel Ofori netted to pull even for Karela in the 59th minute as both teams decide to sit back and play on the counter.
Chances were far and few from the 60th minute as the two sides recoiled into their shells until the referee blew his whistle for the end of the game.
