There was no winner at Accra Sports Stadium as Hearts and Aduana Stars play a pulsating 3-3 draw in the week 26 fixture.
The visitors were in full swing right from the start of the game and just in the six minutes their effort paid off. Hearts defenders miskicked a Derrick Sasraku strike, Elvis Opoku released Daniel Darkwah to send superb strike which took defection off Robin Gangne to fetch the visitors’ goal.
The Phobians didn’t relent and in the 12 minutes, Wilful Cobbinah blasted a Fatawu Mohammed cross to pull parity. The home side were in full control after the equalizer but a poor defensive control from Fatawu Mohammed afforded Daniel Sasraku the chance to fetch Aduana second in the 24 minutes.
Hearts were on top after the second time with Aduana sitting deep. Thomas Abbey managed to go pass two Aduana defenders before finding the right corner to equalize for the Phobians.
The drama in the fixture was thick and fast, the visitors retook the lead in the 77 minute through Nathaniel Asamoah before Kwame Kizito pounced on Wilful Cobbinah’s strike to pull parity for the third time in the game.
The result means Aduana have open an eight point’s difference behind Hearts of Oak.
Kumasi Asante Kotoko title hunt is over after losing 1-0 at the Ndoum Sports Stadium.
The Porcupine Warrior were hoping to boost their title hunt but it dashed when a determined Elmina Sharks stood up to thwart Kotoko’s opportunity.
Backed by their vociferous fans, Elmina Sharks managed to hold Asante Kotoko in fairly balanced first half.
Elmina Sharks resumed the second half with great intensity and purpose and in the 58th minutes Joseph Mensah strike to condemn Kotoko to their second defeat in three league games.
