Strasbourg coach Thierry Laurey has lauded Ghana defender Alexander Djiku for his outstanding form this season.
The Black Stars centre-back has emerged as one of the best defenders in the French Ligue this campaign with superlative performances.
On Sunday, Djiku was voted as Strasbourg Man of the Match following his impressive performance against Angers.
The Ghana defender who lasted the entire 90 minutes of the game, earned (45.7%) of votes from Strasbourg fans.
He beat Dimitri Liénard (17.3%) to first place, with Anthony Caci finishing third on (13.9%).
The Ghanaian versatile player who won the club’s player of the month award for the month of January, made 11 defensive clearances, a record for a Strasbourg player this season.
Djiku also made four good interceptions during the game against Angers.
The player received compliments from his coach at a post-match press conference.
