Accra Hearts of Oak SC former head coach Edward Nii Odoom has revealed that he knew the the Rainbow Boys were going to be champions even before the season begun.
Inaan interview with Accra-based Onua FM, the current head tactician of the junior side of the Phobians, Auroras, said that he saw the club winning the league trophy during pre-season.
“If you could remember i told Ghanaians Hearts will win the league this season. I said that because of what i saw in the boys during pre-season. With the conditioning, i gave the players during pre-season. I knew irrespective of the coach that will handle them, they could win the league”, he told Onua sports.
“Before the season begun, some journalists and coaches chastised me signing eleven new players. They didn’t know what i was doing then. I envisaged building a strong team for now and the future by blending the young ones with the core team”, he added.
Odoom was in charge of the 2020-21 Ghana Premier League winners at the begining of the season but was later demoted to the youth team following the arrival of Serbian trainer, Kosta Papic.
