Ghanaian striker Samuel Tetteh says he wants to see himself playing at the highest level no matter where he is playing currently.
The Ghanaian pacy forward moved on loan to MSL club New York Red Bulls from sister side Red Bull Salzburg last week.
For many foreign players, a move to the United States is usually seen as odd, if not a downgrade from Europe.
When asked why he chose to come to America, Tetteh responded: “Well it wasn’t easy at first. But a discussion with the Head Coach and Head of Sport made things easier for me. I love their ideas and the plans they have for the club.” Tetteh told AFHQ during an interview.
“Also, I needed a new challenge to try new things somewhere else.” Tetteh continued.
The highly talented forward spent the past 2.5 seasons on loan at LASK Linz, where he scored 19 goals for the club and helped them qualify for the Europa League.
He began his career in Ghana at the Premier League side West African Football Academy based in Sogakope in the Volta Region.
When asked about WAFA, Tetteh was full of praise for the academy: “I think it’s one of the best Academies in Africa to develop young talents and prepare them for Europe. My experience was great, I enjoyed every moment there.”
For his future plans, Tetteh has envisioned a potential stay in America with the Red Bulls. “I plan to help the team and achieve greater things. If there’s a possibility to stay more years I will be glad to.”
“I want to see myself competing at the highest level, no matter where.” he concluded
