Accra Hearts of Oak defender, Larry Sumaila Ibrahim has revealed how he managed a breakthrough to the Phobian family.
After a difficult childhood and a failed dream to land a professional contract in Greece, the right-footed defender pondered quitting football until he made contact with former Hearts of Oak coach Seth Hoffman.
“I was playing this gutter to gutter football in my area, so there was this one day we were playing an area match and Seth Hoffman was somewhere watching the game so after the game, he called me and asked that he has seen a potential in me and wants to help me,” the player said in an interview monitored on Hearts TV.
The defender moved to the capital-based club in 2018 but is yet to command a regular starting line-up in the squad due to competition in the team.
