Ghana forward Kamaldeen Sulemana has expressed excitement after sealing a move to French Ligue 1 side Stade Rennais in the ongoing transfer window.
The 19-year-old has penned a five-year deal with the Brittany-based club from Danish side FC Nordsjaelland.
He was expected to join Dutch Champions, Ajax but the deal fell through.
“I am very happy to join Stade Rennais FC, a very good French club. The project meets my expectations,” he told the club’s official website.
“The Ligue 1 Uber Eats is one of the best leagues in Europe. There is a very good team in Rennes, a lot of talent. I know the club is famous for its training. For a young player like me, it is the best choice to progress.
“I have come to help the team achieve their goals. It is a great challenge to take up.”
Sulemana was linked to Manchester United, Liverpool, and Lyon following his impressive outings in Denmark.
The highly-rated youngster had a stellar campaign with Nordsjaelland in the Danish Superliga last season having scored 10 goals and provided 8 assists in 29 appearances.
He has two caps for the Ghana national team after making his debut in October 2020 in international friendlies against Mali and Qatar
