Alexander Djiku is into his third season at Ligue 1 side Racing Club de Strasbourg Alsace after joining them from Caen in the 2019/20 season and the Ghana defender believes on the aspect of leadership, he has progressed.
“I made progress on the leadership aspect.” Djiku said in an exclusive interview with onzemondial.com as reported by SPORTSWorldGhana.com
“Coming here made me feel like they wanted to make me a leader. The whole club wanted me: the president, the coach, the sports director. It was the club’s second biggest transfer. There was a lot of expectation around me. I knew I was going to take a step up here.” he said.
The Black Stars defender continued:
” As soon as I arrived, I was introduced as a key member even though I didn’t know anyone. I constantly try to show on the pitch that you can rely on me. I can surround the young people. I have some experience in Ligue 1 now. This summer, many elders like Lamine Koné and Mitrovic left. So people are counting on me even more, especially to help young people. I take this role to heart. I like to push young people, that’s what we did with me back then. I try to bring them my experience.”
