Ghana Premier League side Asante Kotoko have been handed a major boost ahead of their match day six fixture away to Bolga All Stars on Sunday with the return of injured trio to training on Tuesday at the club’s Adako Jachie base.
Versatile player, Evans Quao and offensive midfielders, Ollenu Ashitey and Kwame Boahene were put through various light training activities by the medical team.
Evans Quao suffered a foot injury at the start of the season and has been out for six weeks. Kwame Boahene missed the last two league matches at Obuasi (Ashgold) and in Kumasi (Elmina Sharks) due to an ankle injury while Ollenu Ashitey had muscle tear a week back. He was given a seven-day rest.
Quao did runs around the pitch with Ollenu and Boahene working with cones; jumping and pulling weights under the instructions of medical team members – Gabriel Ofori Adjei and Andrew Owusu Amankwa.
After the day’s session, Mr. Gabriel Ofori Adjei told Asantekotokosc.com that, the medical team monitored the pain levels of the affected parts of the individual players. They would decide from Wednesday whether or not to increase the intensity of their training sessions.
This development comes as good news to the Porcupine Warriors especially in the case of Evans Quao who has gone through two treatment phases before this stage. His foot support was removed on Tuesday.
