Legon Cities FC demolished Obuasi Ashantigold SC at the Accra Sports Stadium on Friday evening in the week ten encounter of the Ghana Premier League.

The Royals mesmerized the Elephants from Obuasi with an eye-catching and scintillating performance to pick their second win of the season to move out of the bottom on the league table.

AshantiGold SC scored first on the fifth minute after Yaw Annor pounced on a goalkeeping blunder from ex-Black Stars short stopper, Fatau Dauda to make it 1-0 to the visitors.

Four minutes later, Nasiru Moro unleashed a pile driver from the outside of the box into the right top corner to draw the home level after nine minutes showing on the clock.

Thirteen minutes to the end of the first half, Yaw Annor grabbed his brace by connecting beautifully to Empem Dacosta’s cross which beat Dauda at his near posts to restore the visitors’ lead.

Jonah Attuquaye, a former player of Berekum Chelsea FC scored from a tight angle to make it 2-2 before the end of the first 45 minutes.

On the 50th minute of the match, Former Asante Kotoko SC player, Baba Mahama put the hosts in the lead for the first time in the game with a tame strike but Ashantigold goalkeeper Felix Clottey.

Former Asokwa Deportivo SC captain, David Cudjoe scored twice with seven minutes to put the game beyond the away team with his first strike coming on the 55th and 62nd minutes respectively.

Two minutes from full time, Yaw Annor missed a chance to grab his first hat-trick of the season from the penalty spot as Fatau Dauda redeemed his image with a penalty save.

Legon Cities FC were struggling for goals before the clash with the Miners but managed to put five past the Yellow and Blacks who had not three goals in a single game this season.

The Royals, after their win this evening moves up on the league table with nine points from 10 matches.

AshantiGold SC missed the opportunity to go back top of the league table after their humiliating defeat in Accra on Friday night.
