WAFA’s livewire Majeed Ashimeru has Labelled his debut Black Stars call up as a ”dream come true”.
The intelligent midfielder and teammate Gideon Waja were on Thursday handeda late call up to the Black Stars team for Ghana’s double header friendly with Mexico and USA on June 28 and July 1 respectively.
Speaking to Kumasi based Abusua FM , Ashimeru said the call up by Coach Kwesi Appiah came as a ‘surprise’ to him but indicated he will do his utmost best to justify his invitation.
”It’s a dream come true because every Ghanaian player hopes to play for the Black Stars and so I am happy to be invited into the team for the Mexico and USA friendlies.”
He added ”he call up came as a surprise to me because I never expected it but I’m just joining the team to do showcase my talent and also learn a lot from the experience players in the team”.
Ashimiru has been an instrumental figure in WAFA’s outstanding form in the ongoing Ghana Premier League.
WAFA currently leads the Ghana Premier League log with 36 points in 18 matches.
