Medeama SC striker Bernard Ofori has set himself a 15-goal target for the second round of the ongoing 2016/17 season to help his side to a top 4 finish.
The dreadful forward bagged a hat-trick in his side’s 5-1 demolishing at the T&A Park on Sunday against bottom placed Bolga All Stars on Sunday.
Prior to the weekend’s game, Ofori had scored 4 goals from 8 appearances correlating a goal in every two matches for his side, his best stats in the past few seasons.
But it seems the prolific striker has found his scoring boots after grabbing four goals in last 2 games for the Yellow and Mauves.
“I’m targeting 15 goals in the second round and I thank God that I have started the second round with a hat-trick,” he said in a short interview.
“This is possible to achieve and I hope more goals will come with a little bit of hard work.”
Ofori made a total of 26 appearances for Medeama last season in the Premier League and managed only 4 goals, but has surpassed his goal tally this season from just 9 league games. Statistics that you can only build and set a higher target. His performances for the “Yellow and Mauves” side have seen them move up the ladder from the relegations section to top 4 section.
Featuring in 9 league games for Medeama this season, Ofori has grabbed 7 goals and won 1 NASCO Man-of-the-match award.
