Bristol Rovers manager Ben Garner has left out English-born Ghanaian midfielder Abu Ogogo from his squad list for the season.
Garner told Ogogo last month that he is not in his plans for this season and the gaffer has reiterated that nothing changes despite the player not being able to get a club.
“Everyone has got to register a squad of 22 players this week with the EFL, and anyone over the age of 21 is registered within that squad,” Garner told Bristol Live.
“Abu Ogogo won’t be part of that squad, nothing’s changed in his circumstance.
“Unfortunately he hasn’t been able to secure a move at the moment or find a new club, but he could still do that moving forwards, certainly looking ahead into January.” He added.
Ogogo, 30, joined Rovers in the summer of 2018 and has gone on to make 49 appearances for the club.
He has also featured for Arsenal, Barnet, Coventry City, Dagenham as well as Shrewsbury Town.
