The 32-year-old forward has struggled for game time this term but has once again made a big statement on his latest outing with a strike and two assists.
Ghana and Kayserispor striker Asamoah Gyan has taken a swipe at his critics after registering his third goal of the season against Pazarspor in the Turkish League Cup on Wednesday.
The former Al Ain cult figure was superb in his side’s 6-1 drubbing of the lower-tier side having snatched the opener on the 13th minute and providing two assists in the encounter.
Goals each from Bilal Basacikoglu, Mert Ozyildrim, Bernard Mensah, Oleksandr Kucher, Silvestre Varela and Gyans’s opener completed the demolition of their opponent at the Kadir Has Stadium.
”This guy has said it over and over again that nothing breaks him down. Keep planning to lock him at the front door. He will definitely pass through the back door,” Gyan tweeted
The Black Stars’ captain latest invite for the AFCON double-header qualifiers against Sierra Leone last month ruffled feathers in the west African nation with some top journalists questioning the rationale behind his call-up following his lack of game time at club level.
The forward has been reiterating that he still has an unfinished business with the four-time African champions despite hitting the twilight of his career and has set sights on winning laurels before he hangs up his boots for national career assignments.
Many still question his career with the senior national team but has flatly rejected their notions with his latest tweet claiming he can’t be moved by such negativities as he has what it takes to thwart them.
Both Gyan and compatriot Bernard Mensah lasted for 75th and 72nd minute respectively for the encounter.
The experienced frontman is currently with three goals in all competitions this season.
