Asante Kotoko midfielder, Richmond Lamptey says he is hoping to put in the effort together with his teammates in order to ensure that the club’s management and supporters to smile once again.
The player has been buzzing since securing a move to the Baba Yara stadium after signing a three-year contract with the Porcupine Warriors.
Kotoko finished second in the Ghana Premier League during the 2020/21 season and also failed to reach the finals of the MTN FA Cup, with arch rivals Accra Hearts of Oak going on to win both trophies despite a poor start to the season.
However, the club’s newest addition has pledged to work together with his teammates to ensure that the management reaps the effort they put in bringing him to the club.
Speaking in his first interview after signing for the club, the midfielder said: “As an individual, I’m going to do my very best and together with my teammates we are going to put in a collective effort to make sure the club’s management and the supporters to make their dreams a reality.”
The versatile midfielder also was quizzed on the prospect of playing alongside Fabio Gama and and Salifu Mudasiru and he replied: “I have watched both [Mudasiru & Gama] and they are very good, so my quality adding up to theirs shoot up the standard of our football.”
