AS Roma forward, Felix Afena Gyan has been named in Milovan Rajevac’s squad for Ghana World Cup qualifying games against Ethiopia and South Africa.
The 18-year-old is one of two debutants named by the head coach for the crucial games against Ethiopia and November this month.
Afena-Gyan has been impressive for his club side since joining them earlier this year. The forward joined Roma’s youth team as a start but his performances have seen him being introduced into the senior team by manager Jose Mourinho.
Afena-Gyan made his debut for the club on October 27, in the game against Cagliari in the Italian Serie A before being introduced in the second half of the clash with AC Milan last weekend.
The teenager has six goals for Roma’s Under-19 this season, and while a call up into the Black Stars looks to have come too early, it comes as no surprise for many.
