Ghana have been kicked out of CAF’s Women’s 2020 Tokyo qualifiers after losing 1-0 to Kenya on Tuesday afternoon at the Kasarani Stadium.
The Harambee starlets needed an extra time penalty goal from
Gentrix Shikangwa to ensure they beat Ghana to seal passage to the next phase of the qualifiers.
The crucial game, saw no goal scored by both teams after 90 minutes of thrilling football.
Ghana and most occasions threatened their opponents but failed to put the ball at the back of the net and conceded in the first half of the extra time.
The ball had it the had of Black Queens defender Justice Tweneboah and Gentrix Shikangwa elected herself to score the only goal in the game for the hosts.
Kenyan women’s team unexpectedly drew goalless against the Black Queens at the Accra Sports Stadium last Friday before recording a slim 1-0 win over Mercy Tagoe’s side on Tuesday to end their qualification campaign.
