Talented Ghanaian midfielder Leonard Owusu was in his element in midweek as he climbed off the bench to provide a stupendous assist in Vancouver Whitecaps 3-1 win over local rivals Montreal Impact in the MLS.
Owusu, who has started almost all MLS games for Whitecaps since his January move from Ashdod FC came in for Thelonius Blair in the 62nd minute and quickly provided the creativity which was lacking in the Whitecaps midfield.
The former Dreams FC skipper set up Fredy Montero and the forward made no mistake by hitting the ball past the opposing goalkeeper for the third goal.
The Ghanaian youth star is expected to start on Saturday when Whitecaps lock horns with Real Salt Lake.
