Hearts of Oak majority shareholder Togbe Afede XIV has defended the club’s swift sacking of coaches in recent years, saying it shows the Rainbow club is very ambitious.
Hearts of Oak have sacked as many as 20 coaches in recent years with former Ghana international Kim Grant being the latest casualty.
There have been criticism against the rapid sacking of coaches amid claims it has affected the consistency of the team which has left the club without a domestic title for more than a decade .But the astute businessman insists sometimes the hiring and firing approach to coaches is the reflection of the ambition of the club .
“People say we change coaches, well sometimes that is a reflection of the ambitions of the club,” he told GTV Sports+
“Go to the history and see how many coaches Real Madrid has had in the last 15 years,” he remarked.
“So we are doing the best we can and they should also believe that in the board there is a lot of talent. We have the likes of Nyaho Tamakloe who has been in football administration at all the levels, from Accra Hearts of Oak to the FA. So we would make it.
“Many people cannot imagine where we want to take Hearts to. Maybe they are thinking about here, we are thinking about there. We only need their support, genuine support, the need to have faith in the leadership and they will see that the smiles will be back.”
