Ghana international midfielder Afriyie Acquah has abrogated his contract with Saudi Arabian top-flight club Al-Batin on mutual consent after just five months of joining them.
The 29-year-old made eight league appearances during the five months period he spent at the club.
Acquah signed a two-year contract with an option to extend next year. He joined on a free transfer after leaving Turkish Super Lig side Yeni Malatyaspor.
But the former Torino and Sampdoria ace has failed to settle in the Gulf country hence ending his stay at the club.
”One thing for sure is that Afriyie Acquah did not request for a termination because of football reasons and that’s all I can say, ” a source close said as reported by Ghanasoccernet.com.
”Both parties are happy so we move on and start the search for a new club in the January transfer window.”
The 2014 FIFA World Cup midfielder has also previously had stints with Parma, Palermo, TSG Hoffenheim and FC Empoli.
