Swansea City forward Andre Ayew scored twice to help Ghana beat Qatar by 5-1 in an international friendly as the Ghana skipper takes his goal tally to 17 for the Black Stars.
The former Olympique de Marseille winger also made his 90th appearance for the national team of Ghana on Monday evening against the Middle East nation.
For his first goal Andre Ayew beat the offside trap of the Qatari defence to put Ghana 2-1 up in the 63rd minute.
The captain of the side continue to lead by example as he realized his second effort in the 83rd minute this time assisted by his own brother Jordan Ayew. The Crystal Palace striker – who has not scored a goal in his last 15 matches for club and country – lifted a good ball into the area of Andre to head home the 4th goal of Ghana.
Ghana won 5-1 and represents C.K Akonnor’s first win as Ghana coach after Mali defeated Ghana last Friday.
The Black Stars of Ghana take on Sudan in a double-header next month as Day 3 and Day 4 of the 2021 AFCON qualification tournament. Ghana tops their qualifying group with 6 points.
