Youngster Augustine Boakye of West African Football Academy (WAFA) SC is undoubtedly a star in the making and one to watch in the 2020-21 Ghana Premier League season.
The 20-years-old plays as an attacking midfielder whose best position on the field is playing just behind the main striker in what we normally refer to as Number 10.
At a very young age, the Highly-rated young lad has established himself as one of the most exciting players in the country and is arguably the best dribbler in the Ghana Premier League so far in this season.
Despite players leaving the Sogakope team for greener pastures every now and then, the Academy has never lacked quality and has again produced one of the most technically gifted players in the West African nation.
Boakye, 20 after making 15 appearances for the Academy Boys has scored five goals in the Ghanaian top-flight league and has provided a whopping number of assists making him one of the best talents domestically.
His nine assists in the league so far makes him the leader in terms of providing deft touches to set up teammates to score in addition to his five strikes this season totaling his goals involvement or contributions to 14 in just fifteen matches.
Not only that, but the 20-year-old has also been named or better still won the Most Valuable Player award three times with ratings of 8/10 so far this campaign.
With his impressive showings in the Ghana Premier League, it came as no surprise for many when he was invited by Ghana coach CK Akonnor to join the senior national team of Ghana, Black Stars for their upcoming AFCON games against South Africa and Sao Tome and Principe.
At his age, the youngster’s development should be a national priority and could become the face of Ghana Football in the coming years with his enormous talent and gift.
Augustine Boakye is one to keep tabs on this season in the Ghana Premier League and has already proved why he should be considered for a place in the Black Stars squad not only in the future but at this present time to exhibit his gift to the world.
