Highly talented Belgium U-17 star Jeremy Doku of Ghanaian heritage, scored a brace for Belgium as they beat Hungary 4-2 in the Euro U17 qualifiers on Monday.
The 16-year-old, on the books of giants Anderlecht, pulled parity for the European powerhouse after converting from the spot on the 29th minute mark after the hosts had taken an early lead.
Belgium doubled the lead just before the break and increased the tally 3 minutes into the second stanza before Doku grabbed his second of the day from another penalty kick.
The Anderlecht jewell was booked on the 72nd minute mark and replaced four minutes later as Belgium romped to a memorable win over the opponents from Central Europe.
The left-footed prodigy has demonstrated great precocity leading him to make first team appearances for Anderlecht in the Belgium top-flight league despite being at the tender age of 16.
English giants Liverpool have been hunting for his signature for a couple of transfer windows but Anderlecht are keen to hold on to him as he is tipped for greatness.
He is contracted to Anderlecht until 2021.
He was born to Ghanaian parents in Borgerhout, a small district of Belgian city of Antwerp.
He was not the only Ghanaian who featured in the game as Club Brugge’s Samuel Asoma, who has a Ghanaian heritage from the Bono region also starred in defensive midfield for the winners.
