Burkina Faso coach Drissa Malo Traore feels his side’s tactical supremacy gained them the victory over Ghana in the CHAN qualifier.

The local Stallions were heads and shoulders above Ghana in every department of the qualifier in Kumasi with the Black Stars at sea as to what hit them.

Two goals up in the first half hour and many wasted chances and Ghana could have been at the end of a hammering.

And even a late rally could not save Ghana from defeat and for the manager, his game plan worked perfectly.

“Ghana is a very big football nation and to beat them at their home is a very good achievement and a morale booster for my players as we prepare for the competition next year,” Traore said in a post match interview.

“We watched them in the first leg and saw how they played, and we mapped out a strategy to stop them and hit them on the counter attack and it worked.”

“By the time they got wind of what we had planned, we were two goals up, hence our inability to score more, especially in the second half. Ghana gave us a very good and tough game in both legs and I was to congratulate my boys for a job well done.”

His comments will add to the increasing pressure on Maxwell Konadu who has criticized in the wake of this defeat.
