English-born Ghanaian teen midfielder Kwame Afriyie Adubofour Poku has been handed his debut call-up to the Ghana squad for this month’s 2021 Cup of Nations qualifier matches against South Africa and Sao Tome.
The English League 2 rising star is among the players invited by coach Charles Kwablan Akonnor for the two matches.
The 19-year old promising attacking midfielder is one of the best players in the English League 2, playing an impressive 31 matches so for Colchester United in the 2020/21 campaign.
The budding teenager after the end of the 2019/20 season, was nominated for the prestigious Player of the Year, Young Player of the Year and Goal of the Year awards after scoring five goals in 30 games.
Ghana will take on South Africa on Match 25 before hosting São Tomé and Principe four days later.
The Black Stars sit at the top of Group C with 9 points and are in search of a ticket to the 2022 Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon.
