Three players from Asante Kotoko have been handed a call up by Black Stars coach James Kwasi Appiah ahead of this month’s 2019 AFCON qualifier against Kenya.
The trio namely captain Amos Frimpong, Goalkeeper Felix Annan and hot-cake midfielder Kwame Bonsu will have the opportunity to justify their invitations when handed a starting berth in Ghana’s final Afcon qualifier against the Harambee stars of Kenya on 23rd March, 2019 at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Amos Frimpong will thus battle English Championship defender Andy Yiadom of Reading fame and Columbus Crew defender Harrison Afful for the right-back position ahead of the 2019 AFCON final squad.
Black Stars deputy coach Maxwell Konadu disclosed recently that they have been monitoring Felix Annan for some months now and there is no doubt that he is the best in the country.
Bonsu and Frimpong has been given their debut call-ups following their explosive performance in the ongoing Caf Confederation Cup.
The Black Stars have already qualified for the 2019 AFCON but will be seeking revenge having suffered a 1-0 defeat to the Harambee Stars in Kenya last year.
