Black Queens skipper Elizabeth Addo has denied allegations that some female players in Ghana engage in lesbianism acts.
The topic has dominated the Ghanaian media landscape in recent times after coach of the Black Queens, Yusif Basigi cautioned female players to desist from lesbianism.
Elizabeth Addo however holds a different view to that of her coach stating that female players in Ghana are not lesbians but have husbands and boy lovers as other females.
She called on people to alter their negative perception about female players in the country
” We don’t engage in lesbianism acts, it has never happened in our camp. This perception is borne out of how female footballers dress and walk but trust me, I have not seen any Ghanaian footballer who is a lesbian. We have boyfriends and we love them so people should change that perception about us”. Addo said on Spice FM
Whether lesbianism in female football is real or a myth is an argument we live to the public.
