President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has extended the ban placed on football due to the Covid-19.
In his latest update on Ghana’s handling of the global pandemic, he gave assurance, however, that a return to active football was only a matter of time.
“In the next couple of weeks, a decision will be taken on the resumption of contact sports including football, taking into consideration the imminent participation of our national teams in international competitions.
“As a known lover of football, I know how devastating this absence has been and it is my hope that very soon, we will all have the pleasure of watching the beautiful game again,” said President Akuffo-Addo.
“Until then, non-contact are the only sports permitted to take place.”
Football activities in Ghana were put on in March this year 15 as a measure against the spread of the virus.
