Ghanaian international Daniel Amartey will play no part when Leicester City travel to West Midlands to face Premiership newcomers West Bromich Albion on Sunday.
The Ghanaian defender has been out of action for almost 24 months and just got back before the “Foxes” ended their preseason.
Manager Brendan Rogers says he will not risk the versatile Ghanaian in the first game of the season though he is getting back on track
“Dan Amartey has just come back in. He played 45 minutes of the friendly game last weekend. It’s been nearly two years since his last game, so you always have to be careful when a player’s been out for such a long time, but he’s progressing well.” Rogers told his club’s website ahead of the game on Sunday.
A loan deal for Amartey to get adequate playing time looks very likely as Leicester have as many as three players already in his role.
