Ghana captain Andre Ayew says the injury he suffered getting to the dying embers of the 2021 AFCON Group C game against Sao Tome on Sunday at the Accra Sports Stadium was not serious.
The Swansea star hinted that he is fine as his club medical team have examined him ahead of their game with Birmingham this week.
“It’s a knock. The club medical team have seen it, I can put my leg on the floor. There won’t be any issue.” Ayew emphasized.
The mercurial attacker further thanked his colleagues and the staff of the team for qualification to the 2021 AFCON in Cameroon though he sees it as something normal
“I want to congratulate the whole squad for qualification. In my country, because we are used to qualification, we see it as a formality.”
“We have to be very proud and happy of what we and our coaching staff have done.” He added.
