The Ministry of Youth and Sports has announced that it has given the approval for fans to return to various match venues during matchdays.

Although fans were allowed to throng to match venues in some games of the 2020/2021 Ghana Premier League, the Ghana FA later instructed that matches be played behind closed doors due to the hike in Coronavirus cases in the country.

After several months, the country’s football governing body and the Sports Ministry have reached a consensus for fans to return to the stadia.

“The Ministry of Youth and Sports is delighted to announce that with immediate effect, approval is granted for football fans (25%) to return to the various League centres to watch both domestic and International competitions subject to observing all the national Covid-19 Protocols and the GFA Matchday COVID-19 Protocols,” part of a press statement from the Ministry has said on Friday.

According to the statement, supporters would only be allowed to watch their teams on matchday 21 of the Ghana Premier League.
