Ghanaian defender Emmanuel Amankwaa Akurugu ‘Koffi’ played his first-ever La Liga game for Getafe CF in their away defeat to giants FC Barcelona on Thursday night.
FC Barcelona posted a commanding 5-2 win over Getafe to move to third on the La Liga table, two adrift rivals Real Madrid who are occupying the second position.
Akurugu,19, earned a place in José Bordalás’ match-day squad list for the big match against FC Barcelona, Meanwhile, his compatriot Sabit Abdulai also featured for the second time in the Laliga for Getafe CF.

Amankwaa Akurugu was introduced on the 46th minute to replace for Marc Cucurella.
The young but talented left-back has been amazing for the Getafe CF ‘B’ in his debut season, making 16 appearances in the Spanish third-tier league
His impressive display in team B got him a slot in the senior team by José Bordalás to train with the first team since February.
