Afena-Gyan scored six goals in five games in the Italy Primavera for Roma’s junior team before he was promoted by Jose Mourinho.
Though he’s yet to score his first senior goal for the Yellow and Reds outfit, his performance in three games for Mourinho’s team before the international break was immense.
He turned down Ghana call-up to play for the Black Stars in their Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers against Ethiopia and South Africa earlier this month.
